Questions & Answers:

Q: Current Referee Level & Highest level attained:
A:
District.

Q: When did you begin, and what motivated you to start refereeing?
A: I started refereeing in 2022. The reason I started was to stay part of soccer  in other ways than playing while still having it be more flexible than coaching. I was looking to try to make some extra money too.

Q: What has been your most enjoyable game/memory of your referee career?
A:
Being able to go to the Alberta summer games was a memorable experience that I have made while officiating. I've met a lot of skilled referees and ARs and I saw everyone I met there was very professional. Along with the experience the catering was quite good.

Q: What do you love most about refereeing?
A: There are alot of things I love about officiating. I enjoy meeting new people and getting to work with other officials through the games. I also like that I can now understand calls and the rules for soccer.

Q: When did you first become a CDSRA member and what encouraged you to join?
A: I became a CDSRA member when I first started reffing. I had been encouraged to join by other referees during my introductory course. I thought joining CDSRA would help to improve my officiating.

Q: What advice would you give to somebody just starting out refereeing?
A: If you are starting out refereeing make sure that you keep an open mind to learn and whenever there is an opportunity to learn take it. Make sure you attend as many education sessions as you can to become the best you can be. Always be open to advice from other referees to improve.

Q: What do you do outside of refereeing and what are some of your interests?
A: Outside of refereeing I play hockey, I play soccer and I am a student. I am a big Flames fan and enjoy fishing. As a person I just enjoy doing any activity if it gets me running around.
